I was forced to watch this movie last night by a French guy, and it actually surprised me by not sucking. I really, really laughed and enjoyed it. It has everything in it Americans love: boobs, junk food, fast cars, and the loathing of a French guy played by the actor who is also the Borat character. Two thumbs up www.sonypictures.com/movies/...anights/

Fri, October 12, 2007 - 8:56 AMI just KNEW this movie would suck, just knew. Didn't even want to give it a chance. But alas! I vacationed in Texas at my brothers house and it was one of the few movies he would watch (born again Christian, no joke!). I was forced to watch it, well not forced I could have gone outside and played with the fireants so instead I viewed the movie.
I actually liked it! I'm not at all into nascar and do not loathe the French, but I found it to be quite stupidly funny! I now OWN this movie lol.

Re: Talladega Nights
Mon, October 22, 2007 - 1:52 AMwhen i saw the trailer for this movie, the first thought that entered my mind was "damn, will farrell, you have let me down". But it was quite the opposite. I don't think that it can ever compare to Anchorman, but it did have some hilarious moments, and I loved how stereotypical it was. I've never been disappointed with a Farrell movie yet, for some reason he can always pull off roles that if played by someone else, would be total garbagggggeeee. Loved it~ -

Fri, October 26, 2007 - 10:37 AMAnchorman didn't do anything for me and even though I saw Blades of Glory free on a plane I wanted my money back...or at least a parachute. But I did like Talladega Nights.

Sat, December 8, 2007 - 6:26 AMI agree, didn't expect to like it, thought it would be bad-stupid, but found it to be brillilliantly
hillarious. Describing why it's great would keep me up from now until Monday, and I want to actually do something with my weekend, so I'll just reaffirm and leave it at that. See it! -

Re: Talladega Nights
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 6:07 PMI haven't seen it and don't know that I will, voluntarily, that is. I read that the French guy is also gay. He first beats Farrell who has to then regain his sense of manhood 'cause he can't let a queer beat him. At least, that's the impression I got. Or was it just his Frenchness that mattered? The potential for homophobia is there, but I'm willing to hear otherwise from those who have actually seen it. Straight folks don't always pick up on the sometimes subtle heterosexism in many movies, but queer folks deal with it every day. I don't like Will Farrell anyway, so this one isn't on my list of must-sees, but I'd like to know if I have one less reason to avoid it. -

Sun, January 13, 2008 - 9:12 AMI laughed so hard I nearly pee'd my pants.
It gave me back the two hours of my life that I lost watching Nacho Libre. -

Re: Talladega Nights
Sat, February 16, 2008 - 7:25 PMThe movie was AWFUL, but oh so amusing. It really was a great parody of what you can expect to find in America's "less educated" areas. And yes, the French guy was gay and Will Farrell had to kiss him after he lost to him. It was beautiful! And not just because Will's character really seemed to enjoy it.
Did you seem him and Sacha Baron Cohen accepting an award at the MTV Movie Awards (I think)? They came out and rolled around all over the stage together. It was quite sweet...
