Do you have any movies that you HAD TO SEE because of the trailer, but were completely disgusted with yourself for having sat through?

What about movies that you skipped in the theatres because of some crappy trailer, only to be amazed when you finally caught it at a friend's place?

I feel like I only remember the great trailers for movies I loved, but I'm sure that there were some great ones for movies I didn't...The only one I can think of instantly was Toys (great trailer for a not so great film).

    Alien 3.

    The original teaser was made apparently before they had any real idea of what they intended the movie to be. 20th Century Fox screwed the pooch on that one and David Fincher unfairly gets the blame.

    (ominous low key music, ALIEN logo, cue voiceover announcer) "in 1979 we learned that in space, no one can hear you scream..." (slow panning shot of ALIEN EGG on top of rusted out car in back alley) "This summer, we will learn that on earth EVERYONE can hear you scream"

    whatta drag that turned out to be.

      i totally remember that trailer...i remember being SO excited and waiting on line to see the premiere of Alien3.

      letdown doesn't really begin to cover it...but at least it wasn't an indication of things to come from Mr.Fincher

      besides, it could have been worse...Highlander 2 anyone?
