Phantasm

For some reason, I'd never seen this. Don Coscarelli. Horror cult classic. It's lyrical and weird, and very, very '70s. Sex in the cemetery with bare-breasted monster blondes. Scuttling things between the gravestones. Smirky mute psychic grannies. Severed fingers slithering through viscous off-color fluids. This one has it all! It's like an episode of Night Gallery fell in love with a Wes Craven movie and they ran off together attempting to set up house in whatever neighborhood the Partridge Family lived in.

The main character wears skin-tight pocketless jeans and slightly puffy button-down shirt, but redeems himself from utter suburban foppishness by driving a gorgeous '70(?) black Hemi Cuda His little brother does some dirt riding in the cemetery on a pretty little motorcycle whose marque escaped me--some sort of 125 Kawi maybe.

"You play a good game boy, but the game is finished, NOW YOU DIE"

    really creepy.

I did enjoy how the 2nd movie picks up exactly where the first left off, despite being filmed and released over a decade later. They MUST have used some deleted footage from the first to manage that. Oh - and the gold ball in part 2... eesh.

I knew you'd have seen this one, GB--for the cuda, if nothing else.

I am now trying to picture you in skintight, pocketless, David Cassidy pants.

Leif Garret is the best I can come up with.
